The XTEC MPX-1 is a highly durable HD media player, intended for applications such as theme park ride vehicles, parade floats, tour vehicles, boats, outdoor exhibits etc. It is IP66 rated, operates over a wide temperature range, and is designed for high vibration and high acceleration environments. It is housed in a tough die-cast aluminium enclosure, with integrated all-axis anti-vibration mounts.

 

It will replay high bit rate compressed media formats (such as H.264 video and MP3 audio), as well as uncompressed audio wave files up to 16 bit 48KHz. Files can be seamlessly looped, and cued-up for instant start with a seamless cut. Video with embedded audio is output via HDMI, and stereo audio is also output via a line level connector.

 

Remote control capabilities includes Ethernet, RS-232/422/485 serial, and eight GPIO. Configuration is performed using a browser-based interface, which allows for simple control programming such as making an Ethernet or serial ASCII string start a file. The front panel OLED display and buttons allow for basic device configuration and maintenance.

 

Media is stored internally on an industrial specification flash module. Files can be transferred and backed up via the USB-A connector on the front panel. Files can also be transferred via Ethernet FTP. The MPX-1 has a 12-24v DC supply input, with reverse polarity and surge protection. All inputs and outputs are protected from ESD and voltage spikes.
